This viewer is the first implementation of our MapViewer application, based upon the default HTML/Javascript viewer of ArcIMS. Its primary purpose is to incorporate basic functionality into the new template for the AmazonGIS web site. Many features and refinements will be added in future versions of the viewer.

• A single viewer instance that handles multiple Map Services.
• Visually matches graphics and layout of new AGIS site.
• Concentrates focus on the most simple and often used tools.
• Includes names on the tool buttons for easier identification.
• Normal (IFRAME in template) and full screen modes.
• Improved presentation of layers interface.
• Recieves parameters in query string to start off with a layer visible.
  (allows linking from sample map interface on the front page)

Future versions will include:

• Support for more tools and tool groups.
• View layers from more than one data source.
• Retain state (visible layers and zoom position) on viewer size change.
